A quiet single-track lane that skirts the north-western boundary of the airfield. When westerly winds put Runway 32 in use, arrivals cross the road at low altitude on short finals — one of the most photogenic approaches in the north of England. Bring a stepladder to shoot over the fence and mind farm traffic.
Off Scotland Lane in Yeadon you'll find a raised bank giving a rare high-angle view of the runway. In easterly winds the airport switches to Runway 14 and heavies drop in over Rawdon Billing — a proper Yorkshire moorland spotting session. Parking is very limited; walk in from the industrial estate.
Yeadon Tarn Park is public open space with parking, a café and toilets. Aircraft turning onto final approach for Runway 32 bank overhead — perfect for a longer lens and a nice belly shot. Great winter light, and the walk around the water keeps the family happy while you wait for the Jet2 rush.
On the south side of the airfield, the Multiflight Café serves breakfasts and hot drinks with a floor-to-ceiling view of the GA apron and main runway. A great backstop for rainy days — bring your radio, order a brew, watch the movements roll in. Paid parking on site.
